Rolex To First a Job Interview? 1980s Watch Heroes: Ghostbusters Wear Seiko, Rolex, G-Shock & Hublot

Luxury watches from Rolex, Blancpain, Omega, and Audemars Piguet lead the line for this week’s episode of Watches Tonight! Luxury watch collector and authority Tim Mosso take watch buyers and watch enthusiasts on a ride through the week’s news and views from the world of luxury timepieces. Tim opens with his take on luxury watch listings gone bad; from sellers who fib to frankenwatches and eBay listings gone bad, there’s a bit of everything in tonight’s dog-pound feature, “Time to Run.” Tim continues with a review of watches to wear at a job interview. While a job interview is the place to convey taste, ability, and hunger, those qualities can be difficult to read if a job candidate’s watch – a gold Rolex, for example – is too expensive, flamboyant, or even too filthy to let the owner’s personal qualities set the tone. Different levels of job interviews can accommodate different grades of luxury watch; upper-management opportunities can open the door to watch accessories that a new recruit never could risk. Tim celebrates the beginning of summer 2018 by offering graduation watch gift options to the many proud parents and their graduates seeking to commemorate the day college, grad school, or even high school is finished for good. Options from Oris, Grand Seiko, NOMOS, and Omega watches offer food for thought for proud family and friends who may be shopping for tomorrow’s thought leaders. Tim recalls his own graduation and celebrates his birthday – he graduated on his birthday in 2006 – to recall the coolest watches of 1984, the year he was born. Tim picks the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 5402 C-series, the Omega Seamaster Cermet “Black Tullip,” the IWC Porsche Design Ocean 2000 reference 3500, a Rolex Oysterquartz Day-Date 19019, and a Jaeger-LeCoultre Memovox Jubilee for sentimental reasons. Since Tim and the immortal supernatural comedy “Ghostbusters” almost share the same anniversary, Tim selects one 1980s-style luxury watch for each of the original four Ghostbusters: A Rolex Milgauss 1019, a Casio G-SHOCK DW-5600, a Seiko Giugaro 7A28-7000, and a generation-one MDM Geneve Hublot feature prominently; Mr. Stay Puft sports a late-model Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch White Side of The Moon for obvious reasons! Finally, Tim discusses and evaluates the 2018 Blancpain Fifty Fathoms Ocean Commitment III, a special 40mm Blancpain Fifty Fathoms in the mold of last year’s sleeper hit, the Fifty Fathoms MILSPEC. But does the new Blancpain go overboard with Earth-friendly dial graphics? We decide whether the new Fifty Fathoms dive watch will sink or swim. All of this and viewer wrist shots are in queue for tonight’s episode of “Watches Live!” Best Article: https://www.watchprosite.com/horological-meandering/-officially-certified-customised-watches--hands-on-with-bamford-modified-zenith-watches-huge-potential-yet-still-not-perfect-/17.1213146.9913651/1528292479/) Tim Mosso on Instagram: @tim_mosso.
