IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Silberpfeil 3785-11 Luxury Watch Review

http://www.thewatchbox.com In 2013, watchmaker IWC of Schaffhausen and the legendary Mercedes-Benz AMG F1 team agreed to a partnership that created this IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Silberpfeil limited edition. In 2014, Mercedes-Benz driver Lewis Hamilton took IWC and AMG to the Formula One world title. The Ingenieur Chronograph Silberpfeil ("Silver Arrow") celebrates the past and present of one of motorsports' most dominant factory teams. With over 1,000 victories between 1936 and 1939, the pre-war Mercedes-Benz grand prix cars live in legend. Today, the tradition continues with Lewis Hamilton, teammate Nico Rosberg, and the team's IWC Ingenieur Chronographs. This Silberpfeil limited edition is a special run of only 1,000 units. Its standout feature is an exquisite machine-turned dial with chocolate-bronze pvd treatment. The dial reads like a delicately perlaged movement baseplate, but the huge expanse of revealed metal and turned metallic grain creates an explosive light show that no "display case back" can rival. Contrasting sub-dials and red highlights compound the dramatic effect. The Ingenieur Chronograph Silberpfeil backs its stunning dial with a complementary strap that features brown alligator leather stitched within a black natural rubber base. It's supple on the wrist, wonderfully durable, and the junction of the strap with the case is seamless; there's no unsightly gap to mar the smooth transition. Inside the case, and IWC in-house caliber 89361 chronograph keeps outstanding time of the events on track. An outstanding 68-hour power reserve is fed by an automatic winding system based on IWC's famous Pellaton winding system. The chronograph starts and stops with the crisp engagement and smooth motion befitting IWC's grand engineering tradition. On the case back, IWC and AMG show their hand; a vintage Mercedes-Benz grand prix car is engraved with a commemorative inscription. This IWC Ingenieur Chronograph Silberpfeil 3785-11 is available from thewatchbox.com in outstanding condition with full IWC factory boxes. See it in high-resolution imagery on www.thewatchbox.com.
