While Rolex and Omega lately have begun to deny warranty claims from owners who possess a properly filled warranty card BUT do not have a copy of the original sales receipt or bill of sale, there has been no declaration of non-transferrable warranties. Strict criteria for honoring warranties is not the same as blanket invalidation of warranties. Voiding warranties properly backed by cards and receipts would violate many nations' consumer protection laws; the fact of its own international warranty declarations means that Rolex is under obligation to deliver the same warranty terms across national lines. Finally, neither Rolex Geneve nor any of its regional offices, dealers, or marketing agencies have claimed - or even validated rumors of - non-transferrable warranties. This rumor also denies the role that individual authorized dealers play in advancing warranty claims to the appropriate Rolex service center. Furthermore, Tim has reached out to authorized dealers and confirmed that Rolex will honor warranties when properly documented; Rolex watches given as gifts remain securely backed under Rolex's terms provided sales papers and warranty cards are presented at the time of a warranty claim. We declare this myth an emphatic FALSEhood.
