http://www.thewatchbox.com For Girard-Perregaux and Ferrari, this Evo3 Ferrari F2004 Chronograph - one of only 249 pieces made - was the last hurrah. As one of the final models borne as fruit of the ten-year partnership between the two firms, this EVO 3 Ferrari F2004 marked the end of a chapter in which Ferrari and Girard-Perregaux fired on all cylinders. The 2003 Laureato EVO 3 forms the basis of this 44mm titanium GMT-chronograph. Itself the last of a long and distinguished line (GP Laureato), the EVO 3 is a superb platform on which to build a horological hot rod. The signature Laureato octagonal bezel is a subtle but unmistakeable nod to Girard-Perregaux's 1975 debut-year "Graduate." Each titanium case and deployant clasp was constructed in-house by Girard-Perregaux's own case makers. As a true manufacture, GP masters both the mechanical and packaging craft disciplines associated with watchmaking. Sleek matte titanium flows seamlessly into a vulcanized natural rubber strap that feels supple and substantial on the wrist; integrated lugs ensure no visible gap between strap and case flanks. The dial of the Evo3 Ferrari F2004 Chronograph embodies the best of haute horlogerie and high performance autos. Each element, from the standout colors of the sub dials to the carbon fiber dial itself, is inspired by the dashboards and instrument graphics of Ferrari's road going super cars. Each Evo3 Ferrari F2004 Chronograph features a sapphire exhibition case back adorned with a tribute to Ferrari's six Formula One constructor's world titles won during the course of its partnership with Girard-Perregaux. Beneath the commemorative graphics, a Girard-Perregaux in-house chronograph caliber 033CO provides automatic winding, a date, a second time zone, and a unique chronograph. Both the chronograph seconds and minutes are tracked by center-mounted hands in order to ensure that the most important timing data also is the most legible and accessible. Celebrate an epic era for two titans of high performance machinery with this Girard-Perregaux Evo3 Ferrari F2004 Chronograph.
