https://www.thewatchbox.com *and* http://www.instagram.com/watchbox/ BEST ARTICLE OF THE WEEK, by FOVERSTA: http://www.watchprosite.com/horological-meandering/the-watches-you-shouldn-t-have-missed-during-the-last-salonqp/17.1172756.9297176/1513368695/ Tonight, Tim Mosso and Josh Thanos discuss the new news in the world of luxury watches. We open with a battle of premier independent horology names: FP Journe and De Bethune. Tim and Josh pit the 2017 FP Journe Vagabondage III against the stunning De Bethune DB28 Digitale in a battle of ultra haut-de-gamme jump hour (and even jump-second!) luxury Swiss watches. New watches from Tudor, Oris, PITA Barcelona, and Jaeger LeCoultre take center stage as we review the most important new watch launches of this week. The Tudor Heritage Black Bay now comes in a green bezel variant, but there's a catch; you must buy this new edition at Harrod's of London, the sole retailer. Oris combines its existing ProPilot Big Crown Caliber 111 with a new blue metallic sunburst dial. PITA Barcelona used the occasion of London's Salon QP to launch a new model, the Molinos Orbital. Jaeger LeCoultre has launched a Reverso Tribute Duoface Casa Fagliano limited edition of 100 pieces in rose gold. The new JLC Reverso will combine its reversible gold case and twin timezones with a Casa Fagliano shell cordovan horse hide strap in brown. Tim discusses his plans to attend and document SIHH 2018's new watch debuts in Geneva this coming January. With watches on hand from Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, Panerai, Jaeger LeCoultre, Greubel Forsey, and many others, this year's SIHH will be the largest in the show's 26-year history. Speaking of Greubel Forsey, the ultra haut de gamme brand has announced the first functioning prototype from its Experimental Watch Technology laboratory. The Nano Mechanical Episode 2 features the world's smallest foudroyant hand and an entirely new method of driving a "lightning second" display on a mechanical watch. Greubel Forsey's ultimate goal is to create a series of energy-saving technologies that can be incorporated into a single mechanical watch with a 180-day power reserve.
