Rolex Submariner Reviewed With Price, Sizing, and Comparisons to a Host of Luxury Watches

Contact for pricing and availability; Either I have it, or I can get it! The Rolex Submariner was redesigned for 2021, and the 2022 Rolex Submariner is a carryover of that blockbuster watch and its core features. Among Rolex Subs, the “Submariner Date” is the most popular option, and among Submariner Dates, the “green bezel” Submariner 126610LV is the favorite of watch collectors. Today’s show reviews the Rolex alternately known as the “green Submariner,” the Rolex “Kermit” and the Rolex “Cermit.” 1953 witnessed the arrival of Rolex Submariner references 6204 and 6205. Fifty years later, the Submariner reference 16610LV (lunette verte) marked the first use of a green bezel insert on a Rolex dive watch. Rolex collectors dubbed that watch the “Kermit” for its resemblance to green Muppet Kermit the Frog. In 2010, that watch gave way to the reference 116610LV, a model instantly nicknamed “Hulk.” The current Rolex 126610LV includes the green ceramic bezel insert of the 2010 watch with the gloss black lacquer dial of the 2003 model. Externally, the biggest change on the latest Submariner is its new 41mm case. Not only is that larger than the old 40mm model, but it’s the largest watch ever to bear the Submariner name. A 120-click diving bezel ensures easy timing of a dive, and the screw-down Rolex Triplock crown helps to achieve a 300-meter water resistance rating. A three-link Rolex Oyster bracelet provides security on the wrist, and a locking dive clasp provides 20mm of incremental adjustment thanks to a Glidelock sliding index. Rolex automatic caliber 3235 offers 70 hours of power reserve, which is a major improvement over the 48-hour autonomy of the preceding caliber 3135. The movement includes an antimagnetic “Parachrom Blue” Breguet overcoil hairspring that improves timekeeping under duress. Rolex builds its sports watch caliber robustly with a full balance bridge and a free sprung balance. For good measure, the prior jeweled staff pivot for the winding rotor is replaced by a ball bearing on the latest generation of automatic movements. Hacking seconds and a quickset date continue to enable precise setting of the watch. Rolex collectors will enjoy an in-depth look at the latest Submariner plus an overview of an Oysterflex-equipped Cosmograph Daytona in yellow gold and a diamond-set Day Date II in white gold. • Audemars Piguet Tradition Minute Repeater Tourbillon Chronograph $240,000 o 26564RC.OO.D002CR.01 white gold and rose gold • Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Extra Thin Jumbo o 39mm, yellow gold, blue dial o Email for pricing. • Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Offshore Chronograph, rubber strap o 26420SO.OO.A600CA.01, grey gradient dial, steel case, flyback chronograph o Not yet priced: email for a quote • Blancpain Villeret Tourbillon 0023-3427-58 $39,950 o Flying tourbillon, power reserve indicator, platinum case, 8 days • Breguet Classique 7337 Day Date Moonphase 7337BA/1E/9V6 $26,950 • Breitling Premier B25 Datora AB2510201K1P1 $10,450 o Chronograph, complete calendar, moonphase, salmon dial • Omega Seamaster Official Olympic Timekeeper 2032 522. $4,950 • Patek Philippe Calatrava 5296G-001 white gold, sector dial $36,950 • Patek Philippe Nautilus Mid-Size 3800/001 WHT steel and yellow gold $49,950 • Rolex Oyster Perpetual Cosmograph Daytona Oysterflex 116518LN $69,950 • Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day Date II 218349 PV BLU EN PRS $119,950 o Diamond dial and diamond bezel • Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner Date 126610LV green bezel $26,450 Please subscribe to our channel for the best luxury watch reviews on YouTube: Visit our website at for the latest pre-owned luxury watch arrivals and industry-leading value in previously loved luxury timepieces.
