Rolex GMT Master: Patek Philippe 3970J Meets Audemars Piguet Royal Oaks

Contact tmosso@thewatchbox.com for pricing and availability; Either I have it, or I can get it! Weekend Watches with Tim Mosso is the ultimate YouTube experience for watch collectors, luxury watch buyers, and luxury watch enthusiasts. This Sunday’s episode includes four Rolex watches from four different collections, two stainless steel Audemars Piguet Royal Oaks, two Omega Speedmaster Moonwatches, and an Omega Seamaster GMT in bold blue ceramic. Rolex is present in force thanks to the GMT-Master "Batman" with its signature black-and-blue Rolex Cerachrom ceramic bezel. This 2019 Rolex GMT includes the Jubilee bracelet and a new automatic caliber 3285 with 70-hour power reserve. Tim's personal favorite Day Date watch takes the stage in the form of the "Maltese Falcon," a platinum Day Date II with an arresting black dial as audacious in style as any design ever brought to market by Rolex. For good measure, the current 42mm Explorer II with "Polar" dial and orange arrow GMT hand as well as a salmon dial Day Date with Oyster bracelet round out an unusually large Rolex contingent in this episode. The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Day Date Moonphase is an agreeable 36mm midsize option for men who prefer more discreet styles or women who prefer men’s watches. The Royal Oak Openworked includes Audemars Piguet’s extraordinary hand-skeletonized automatic caliber 3129. German watchmakers A Lange & Sohne and Glashutte Original do battle with dueling chronographs in precious metal. Glashutte Original’s 2012 40mm redesign of the PanoGraph sports a unique and intuitive chronograph minutes register and a flyback function for timing events in rapid succession. Lange responds with a manual-wing flyback chronograph of its own and raises GO’s rose gold PanoGraph one platinum Datograph Perpetual with perpetual calendar. Jaeger LeCoultre and Breguet sport rival travel time watches courtesy of the Duometre Unique Travel Time and the Classique Hora Mundi, respectively. Both GMT watches are equipped with systems for monitoring a second time zone while embellishing their dials with lacquer in the case of the Breguet and a hand-hammered dial in the case of the JLC. The Duometre is a clever jump-hour GMT with twin power reserve indicators; Breguet’s 5717 includes a mechanical memory for two time zones and a geographic setting for rapid changes of time zone. Omega watches thrill courtesy of a rare titanium Speedmaster Moonwatch in honor of 45 years since the Apollo XI moon landing. The 2017 Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT “Big Blue” delights with a lively array of blue ceramic and orange accents. Finally a show-stopping Speedmaster Moonwatch Blue Side of The Moon with aventurine dial closes a whirlwind display of luxury watch brands and models. • Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Day Date Moonphase 25594ST.OO.0789ST.03 • Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Openworked 15305ST.OO.1220ST.01 • A.
