Panerai Mare Nostrum PAM00300 Luxury Watch Review The Panerai Mare Nostrum PAM00300 is larger than life and scarcer than hen's teeth on a rooster. Only 99 of these Mediterranean Sea Monsters were built as part of the 2010 Panerai Special Edition series, and the model has assumed legendary status among the faithful "Paneristi." Powered by a vintage Minerva chronograph movement and true to Panerai's 1943 Mare Nostrum prototype, the PAM00300 is more than a living legend; it's a full-fledged "grail" watch. On the outside, this 52mm officer's chronograph looks the part. Originally designed for use aboard Italian naval vessels when timing combat maneuvers, the Mare Nostrum employs a clear dial and vast proportions to ensure legibility under fire. The scale of the case is true to history, and the PAM00300 is a virtual clone of the sole surviving Mare Nostrum prototype. Inside that cavernous carapace beats a vintage Minerva 13-22 chronograph movement. True to the vintage and architecture of the 1940s original, the Minerva beats at a lazy 18,000 VpH with the loping cadence of a sturdy pocket watch. The old-school caliber is finished to a standard rarely seen in a Panerai watch and indicative of just how special the Mare Nostrum PAM00300 is to the Florentine watchmaker. is fortunate to offer this Panerai Mare Nostrum PAM00300 - one of only 99 - with full Officine Panerai factory boxes, documentation, and technical manuals. These watches rarely reach the open market and tend to trade hands in private deals between collectors.'s unique status as a Panerai authority with 15 years of experience in the Paneristi community has permitted us the privilege of presenting this outstanding PAM00300.
