http://www.thewatchbox.com In 2004 and 2005, Panerai's Luminor Submersible went big... in a big way. Those years witnessed the launch of the Luminor Submersible Chronograph 1000M and the Luminor Submersible Chronograph 1000M Slytech, respectively. Both were issued in limited editions of 1,000 units. The first, the PAM 187, features the radical Luminor Submersible profile launched on the PAM 194 2500M of the same 2004 model year. Both watches take the Luminor Submersible to a place it had never been; they packed 47mm cases, helium release valves, and depth ratings capped at 1000 meters. The PAM 187 features a date function (note that the PAM 202 does not) and a full stainless steel case. The Panerai Luminor Submersible Chronograph 1000M Slytech PAM 202 adopts the essential style and size of the PAM 187, but it pays tribute to the patron saint of modern Panerai sports watches: Sylvester Stallone himself. The action star almost single-handedly propelled the Italian-Swiss watchmaker to global fame during the mid-1990s with the kind of unpaid endorsement and spontaneous publicity that creates instant legends. Both the PAM 187 and PAM 202 are available from thewatchbox.com with full Officine Panerai factory boxes, technical manuals, and documentation. Given their status as collectibles and Special Edition models, the models' full paperwork relating thereto is present and depicted with the watches and complete accessory sets on www.thewatchbox.com.
