WatchBox Presents: A Traveling Exhibition

<h4>Experience Two Decades of Complexity & Beauty: A Global Event Series Celebrating the Pivotal Collections by F.P. Journe and De Bethune</h4>
The independent brands and watchmakers who have shaped 21st century watchmaking occupy two worlds – one deeply rooted in the traditions of 18th century craftsmanship, and the other distinctly in the future, reimagining how we present and perceive time. WatchBox is pleased to announce a global event series celebrating the visionary spirit and foundational timepieces from this modern era: Two Decades of Complexity & Beauty – the Pivotal Collections by F.P. Journe and De Bethune.
A traveling exhibition will honor François-Paul Journe and Denis Flageollet’s contributions to horological advancement with a curated collection on display and available to purchase, candid conversations with WatchBox’s renowned experts, and unique opportunities to learn. Designed as a retrospective, the collection will arrive in Switzerland later this month, and select watches will be showcased at the Zurich Collector’s Lounge from October 27 to 29, 2022. The exhibition will then move to Geneva to be presented during the inaugural edition of the ReLuxury show, taking place from November 4 to 7, 2022 at the Hotel President Wilson. Collectors, enthusiasts, and friends are invited for private appointments, engaging panels, talks, and celebration during this time.

Each timepiece that bears the ‘F.P. Journe’ or ‘De Bethune’ name is a mirror of its creator’s mind, and WatchBox will proudly showcase more than 100 highly collectible watches during this event. Early examples and modern references alike are increasingly recognized as functional pieces of art; rare, limited, and made by the hands of a genius. Highlights from the retrospective collection include De Bethune’s elegant DB1 Monopusher Chronograph, the DB28 Maxichrono with five hands mounted coaxially, and first-generation brass movement pieces by F.P. Journe such as the Chronomètre á Résonance, Reference R.
“François-Paul Journe and Denis Flageollet are two of the most fascinating and talented watchmakers of this era,” said WatchBox Executive Chairman Danny Govberg. “Our retrospective is a celebration of their technical and artistic innovations, the brand-defining collections from the last two decades, and the community drawn to this independent sphere.”
